I know you’ve heard me say it over and over but it deserves to be said time and time again – it’s always such an honour to be present at each birth I’ve photographed. Birth is such an intimate and personal experience and I truly value that people trust me enough to be there with them when their child is born.
April 1, 2016 – April Fools Day – Dave called me around 11:15 am to let me know that Tera’s contractions were intensifying and it was time for me to head over to their house. I arrived around noon and Tera was working through her contractions beautifully. The feeling in the room was complete calm and readiness to meet baby. Dave and Tera didn’t know the gender of this little one so that surprise had everyone excitedly anticipating what baby #3 would be.
At 12:44 pm, Keegan Merle entered the world. Big sister Heather and big brother Easton came rushing in the room just seconds after the birth so they could all find out what gender baby was as a family. That moment was pretty incredible.
I was able to stay for a couple hours after the birth to capture some beautiful moments between Tera and Keegan and the entire family together for the first time. Witnessing how much the older siblings already adored Keegan was so wonderful to see.
Congratulations Mills family! Thank you for having me there to capture such an amazing experience in your lives. All the best,
