When Rosemary’s sister, Marian, first contacted me about photographing her sister’s elopement, one of the things Marian said to me was how much she wanted her sister’s special day to be everything her sister wanted and more. I was very touched by these words – it said alot about their relationship and how kind and loving of a person Marian was to want this for Rosemary (and Tony, of course!). I immediately wanted to be a part of something so important to their family and was honoured that she asked me to participate in a day so memorable.
Rosemary and Tony traveled all the way from Tipperary, Ireland to be married in beautiful Banff. Marian and her husband, Scott, live in Calgary and were the only two people to be present for the ceremony at Two Jack Lake. We all met at the Rimrock Hotel and started with some photos there, then we headed to Two Jack Lake for some additional photos prior to the ceremony starting. Right before the ceremony was supposed to begin, the clouds moved in and we got a bit of rain. We waited for it to pass … and thankfully only minutes later, the rain stopped and we walked over to the ceremony spot. Talk about the weather being on our side!
Their emotional and intimate ceremony was picture perfect with the mountains behind them. There was so much love and happiness in their vow exchange, it was truly beautiful to witness. Marian read a meaningful poem to the couple which was such a lovely addition to their day.
Congratulations Rosemary and Tony – I was so thrilled to have captured your amazing day. Wishing you many wonderful years together! Please come back and visit again soon.
